Sunday School Ministry
Our Sunday School Ministry at CSI Church Palapallam is dedicated to teaching children the Word of God in a simple, engaging, and meaningful way. We strive to nurture strong moral values, deepen faith, and build Christ-centered character from a young age.
The Sunday School movement was widely popularized by Robert Raikes in 1780, and today, organized Christian education continues to be a vital ministry of the Church of South India. Following this rich tradition, our diocese actively promotes spiritual learning among children.
The ministry functions under the guidance of the CSI Kanyakumari Diocese’s Department of Christian Education and Nurture and follows the specially designed “Pullulla Meichal” syllabus, ensuring structured and age-appropriate biblical teaching.
Our Sunday School is organized into nine age-based groups, enabling effective learning suited to each child’s level. Students regularly participate in Bible Knowledge (B.K.) and Bible Quest (B.Q.) examinations, along with Peater Cater examinations, to strengthen their understanding of the Scriptures.
A key highlight of the ministry is the Diocesan Sunday School Festival held annually on January 26, where children take part in various competitions at the diocesan level. These events encourage both spiritual growth and the development of individual talents.
